Rotaract Club of PSGiTech

Rotaract is a service club for young people ages 18 and up who are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges while developing leadership skills and making friends from around the world.

Cooking Club

The cooking club at our college is a delightful melting pot of culinary enthusiasts who come together to explore the world of food, share delicious recipes, and hone their cooking skills in a fun and supportive environment.


At the heart of the cooking club is a shared love for food and a desire to learn and experiment with different cuisines and cooking techniques. Whether you're a seasoned home cook or a complete novice, everyone is welcome, and there's always something new to discover in the kitchen.


Photography Club

The photography club at our college is a captivating space where students with a keen eye for visual storytelling and a passion for capturing moments come together to explore the art and craft of photography.


At the heart of the photography club is a spirit of creativity and exploration. Members are encouraged to experiment with different styles, techniques, and subjects, whether it's landscape photography, portrait photography, street photography, or experimental photography. From beginners to advanced photographers, everyone is welcome, and there's always something new to learn and discover.


iTech Music Club

The iTech Music was lauched on 7th February, 2015 on the occasion of the first Cultural Day, Advaya 2015, of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research. Started with 11 student members and 3 faculty coordinators, at present the music club grown with more than 30 student members. Any event at PSG iTech ends up with a grand performance by the students of the iTech music.


The music club in our college is a vibrant and dynamic community that brings together students with a passion for music, regardless of their skill level or musical background. It serves as a hub for creativity, collaboration, and appreciation of diverse musical genres.


Coding Club

The club hosts a variety of activities designed to cater to the interests and skill levels of its members. Weekly coding challenges provide opportunities for students to sharpen their problem-solving abilities and learn new programming languages. Workshops and tutorials led by experienced members cover topics ranging from web development and mobile app design to machine learning and cybersecurity.


Beyond technical skill development, the coding club fosters a culture of mentorship and peer support. Experienced members readily offer guidance and assistance to those who are just starting out, creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels empowered to learn and grow. Collaborative projects allow members to apply their skills in real-world contexts, fostering teamwork and innovation.


The club also serves as a platform for networking and career development. Guest speakers from industry share their insights and experiences, offering valuable advice on navigating the tech landscape and pursuing career opportunities. Hackathons and coding competitions provide avenues for students to showcase their talents and connect with potential employers.


Lean Club

The lean club was launched in July13th 2017 on the Birth day of Kaoru Ishikawa at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research with 10 students and 1 faculty co-ordinator


To achieve value addition in institution and industry, and encourage budding engineers with lean thinking, who will formulate continual improvement in design and process by the application of lean tools and techniques.

iTech Dialogue

Words and ideas can bring out phenomenal changes in an individual and also change the world. iTech Dialogue is a platform that facilitates the convergence of great thoughts with stalwarts from various fields captivating the audience. iTech Dialogue is modelled on TED Talks and the speaker delivers his talk for 30-45 minutes followed by an interactive session with our students for about 15 minutes. The programme also serves as a springboard to provide ample space to think and deliberate. It aims to create awareness among our students about their moral and societal responsibilities, through shared experiences of the guest speakers. The speakers are from diverse backgrounds.

Astronomy Club

Welcome to the Astronomy Club of PSG iTech, where the mysteries of the universe unfold before our eyes. Our club is dedicated to unraveling the wonders of the cosmos, from the glittering stars in our night sky to the enigmatic depths of distant galaxies. Through observation, study, and exploration, we embark on a journey to expand our understanding of the universe and our place within it.


The Astronomy Club aims to foster a passion for astronomy among its members, promoting scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration. By engaging in hands-on activities, discussions, and outreach events, we strive to inspire awe and appreciation for the cosmos while encouraging lifelong learning and discovery.


English Literary Forum

Welcome to English Literary Forum - The English Literary Forum (ELF) functions with an objective to enhance not only the communications skills of students but also to improve their critical thinking skills through wide range of activities like creative writing, play-reading, performing, discussions and debates on texts, narratives, and films. In addition to these, ELF strives to help students to overcome their stage fear and hone their personality through effective communication and professional skills.


Science & Humanities Association

The inauguration of the Science and Humanities Association, a multidisciplinary consortium, was held on 13.02.2015 at 3.00 pm. The association was honoured by the presence of Dr. Radhakrishnan who inaugurated the association. The chief guest Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, Director, PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, in his inaugural address stressed on the importance of succeeding in academics and also in sports. Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, also emphasized that it is essential for students to master the basic sciences and urged the students to be strong in their fundamentals. His speech created awareness on the importance of science and humanities for engineers.


Tarangini club

Tarangini is PSG iTech’s In House Magazine and Newsletter.

The magazine is Bi-annual and the Newsletter is a supplementary.

Tarangini is students’ creation to capture the events and achievements of iTechians with a literary touch.

It also encapsulates the creativity of students of various activities like Photography, Editing, Reporting and Designing.

Tarangini is released regularly since its inauguration on Engineers’ Day, on 15th September 2014 and it is prepared by a dynamic team of students and faculty.


Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Students From (ISF)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research inaugurated the IETE student?s forum on 14th October 2017. The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication. The IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Institution provides leadership in scientific and technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has notified IETE as an Educational Institution of national eminence. The IETE of our college focus on conducting technical meetings, conferences, workshops and project exhibitions, publish technical papers in journals and provide continuing education to its members.


Prof.Prashant R. Nair, Honorary Treasurer, IETE Coimbatore Chapter, Amrita University inspired students to follow their passion and to work hard and aim at gaining knowledge through the various forums. He congratulated the students and encouraged them to take full advantage of the benefits provided by the association. He threw light on the various aspects concerned with the growth of communication and its impact on day-to-day life. He enlightened the students with his beneficial ideas on innovation and thoughts on Google Happy Hours.


Entrepreneurs Club(E-Club)

The Entrepreneurs club of PSGiTECH is committed towards the skill development of budding Engineers in the field of Entrepreneurship. The club involved in the activities of conducting seminars, workshops, training programs and interactive sessions with entrepreneurs. The programs are focussed in the areas of start-ups, capacity building, Market survey, business plan preparation, creativity, idea generation, team building etc. The interested students are tuned towards start-ups.


The club is tied with Wadhwani foundation based on Bangalore, especially on National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) programme.


IE (Institute of Engineers, India) iTech Students Chapter

The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines with a membership of more than 820 thousand, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades. The IEI has its headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than hundred centres and several Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.


The Institution of Engineers (India) PSGI students' chapter was inaugurated on 05.10.2016 by Er & Ar C.M Dharmalingam, Chairman, IE Chapter, Coimbatore region. All five Departments (CSE,ECE,EEE,Civil and Mechanical) formulated Students' chapters and served the student community in a better manner. The total number of student member registered in The Institution of Engineers (India) PSGI students' chapter was 334 inclusive of all four years (till 2018). Now, the student member count is 289 inclusive of till third years (2019-2020).


Our Institution PSG institute of Technology and Applied Research has been enrolled as Institutional Member (Life IM) of The Institution of Engineers (India) on 12.09.2016. The institution is attached to Coimbatore Local Centre.


ISTE (Indain Society for Technical Education)
Chapter of PSG iTech

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading national professional non-profit making society for the technical education system in our country with the motto of career development of teachers and personality development of students and overall development of their technical skills. ISTE chapter of PSG iTech organizes various events for holistic technical and non technical development of its students and faculty.


The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organisations.


The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. An IEEE Student Branch gives students the opportunity to meet and learn from fellow students, as well as faculty members and professionals in the field. IEEE Student Branch (Madras Section) of PSGiTech organizes various events for technical development of its students and faculty. The IEEE student branch at PSGiTech comprises of students and faculty members from departments of EEE, ECE and CSE. The Branch offers numerous technical information through seminars by guest speakers and professionals working in the field and enable participation in project contests conducted by IEEE.

NCC

NCC (National Cadet Corps) plays a vital role in developing self discipline, leadership skills among budding students, patriotism and enhance skills to withstand tough situations.NCC became active in our college from September 10,2019. Our students are inspired to venture beyond the ambits of their home and offer dedicated service to the Nation. Our college NCC Unit functions under 5 TN Girls Battalion, Army Wing. There are 54 NCC Cadets in the College under the Associate NCC Officer Lieutenant. V Vilasini.

YRC & RRC

Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research started in the year 2015. The main objective of these clubs is to serve the society by conducting medical camps, blood donation camps etc and also through the awareness programs in various topics, such as Importance of Blood donation, HIV & AIDS awareness, Food Habits etc. These club activities continuously impart humanity and discipline among the young student community. The YRC volunteers have also been participated in various events like organ donation camp and blood donation camp organized by the various social welfare units and NGOs in and around Coimbatore.

YRC Club of PSG iTech Registered as per Government Order (GO) No. 183, Higher Education (G2) Department, Dated 29.8.2016. The YRC Registration fee of Rs. 20 /- is collected from each student and Rs. 8/- per student and institute registration fee of Rs. 500/- is paid to Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Chennai Branch as a YRC membership fee every year. The balance Rs.12 /- is used for conducting the YRC activities. Red Ribbon Club of Anna University, Chennai has offered Rs. 3500/- to conduct awareness programme.

Eco Club

Environmental Education, Awareness and Training play a vital role in encouraging and enhancing students participation in activities aimed at conservation, protection and management of the environment. It is essential for achieving sustainable development. Eco-Club is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about, and improving their environment. The need of the hour is to create an environment friendly generation, because the present generation lives in an artificial world created by man. It is necessary to sensitize them towards nature. Eco Club can thus help to extend the boundaries and scope of the formal educational system, encouraging creativity, and empowering students with ecofriendly skills.

Dance Club

The Dance Club was established during the academic year 2014 - 2015 on February 07.02.2015. The objective of the club is to promote dance and provide opportunity for talented dancers. The club hosts performance during college cultural events like Advaya. And extend their support in the conduct of events like Adapt Tune and Group Dance competitions. In addition to this, the club also plays a major role during Yuktha: a national level Technical Symposium and Dhaksha: the Annual Day of PSG iTech. With about 20 boys and girls dancers during the initial stage, the club had western wing alone.
