Lean Club
The lean club was launched in July13th 2017 on the Birth day of Kaoru Ishikawa at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research with 10 students and 1 faculty co-ordinator, with the vision and mission as stated below:

Vision of Lean Club:
To achieve value addition in institution and industry, and encourage budding engineers with lean thinking, who will formulate continual improvement in design and process by the application of lean tools and techniques.

Mission of Lean Club:
  • To ignite passion for value enhancement and selfless service towards continual improvement
  • To facilitate gaining knowledge and skills towards lean thinking
  • To encourage students in problem solving attitude by applying lean tools and techniques
  • To foster industry-institute collaboration

Events -

An inter-disciplinary interactive session by Mr.S.Gowrishankar on awareness program about the “Industry 4.0” has been organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Lean club at PSGiTech on February 27th. It was an eye-opening program about the need to implement Industry 4.0, benefits that can be achieved for the betterment of the industries and how students should grab the opportunity regarding employment.

The event was held on 07.01.2020 at 3:00pm in the mechanical department Seminar Hall conducted jointly by Lean Club and ISTE. Dr. Rajesh Piplani was the guest speaker. He spoke on Supply Chain Management and methods of teaching incorporated in his department to impart better knowledge to the students. He elaborated on the various games used by them.

TIER 1 event on ‘Six Sigma’ was held at PSG iTech on 13.12.2019. 10 teams were participated in tier 1 and one team from PSGiTech got selected for TIER 2. Read More >



A campus connect programme to train the students on the topics of TQM (Total Quality Management) and Six Sigma was conducted by TAFE (Tractor and Farm Equipments) Ltd, Madurai on 18th September 2018 at Mechanical seminar hall. The speakers of the event were Ms. Chhaya Balasubramanian, HR Manager and Mr. K. Albert Lourdswamy, Chief executive of TQM. Read More >
