Virtual Instrumentation and Graphical System Design
Mr. Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director, National Instruments (IndRA), Bangalore, interacting with Principal and the faculty of ECE department at PSGiTech on 22.06.2016 about setting up of a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Virtual Instrumentation and Graphical System Design. Mr. Solaikutty Dhanabal, Academic Manager, National Instruments and Mr. J. Visweswaran, Academic Technical Consultant, National Instruments , were also present during the discussion. Mr Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director, visited the PSGiTech Campus on 22nd June 2016. He was greatly impressed by the world-class infrastructure facility.   • Faculty must be passionate about imparting technical knowledge and skills to the students, not only during the office hours, but beyond the office hours too.
  • Faculty must provide challenging opportunities to the students and at the same time extend their warm helping hand to them when they are in need of any kind of support.
  • Faculty must visit industries and get to know their basic issues, which could be solved, together by the students and faculty.
  • National Instruments provides students, educators and researchers with the tools that enable them to move beyond classroom concepts and really 'do' engineering. He also indicated that there is a good collection of challenging industrial problems, solved by the NI Team; students of PSGiTech may attempt to solve the above issues with their creative minds.
  • He also pointed out that professional competitions organized by NI (NIYANTRA, NI Day) will greatly inspire the faculty and the students.He also assured that special hands-on training to a limited group of students and faculty can be organized in PSGiTech during mutually convenient period.
  • limited number of internship opportunities will also be extended to PSGiTech ECE students in future.
Finally, Mr Jayaram Pillai visited the NI Lab, being set up as a Center of Excellence (CoE) by the PSGiTech and was happy to observe the on-going serious interactions being made by the students of PSGiTech and experts from NI.
