PSG iTech the latest initiative of PSG and Sons’ Charities, aims to realize its objective of enhancing youth empowerment through technical education. This institute caters to various engineering disciplines, focusing on learning, industry engagement of students, innovative and inclusive pedagogy and ethics. PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research aims at effective transfer of knowledge, the pursuit of truth, and molding the students to become ideal citizens of the country. Within a short span of time, the Institution has emerged to be one of the most preferred institutions for the engineering aspirants in our country. 

About the Department

The Department of Civil Engineering is committed to offering value-based education to students and is equipped with State of the art infrastructural and laboratory facilities required to impart high-quality education. The Department is actively involved in basic and applied research in the field of Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Environmental Engineering through R&D projects and consultancy. Currently, DST-sponsored projects in the area of Civil and Environmental Engineering are being carried out with a total fund of Rs. 93.88 lakhs. The faculty members constantly publish a significant number of research articles in both international and national Journals. The Department has filed four patents on Waste Management Technologies out of which two patents were granted. The Department is also very active in conducting workshops, hands-on training, short-term courses, seminars, and Faculty Development Programs. Since its inception, the Department has organized one National Conference and three International Conferences. The Department has signed an MoU with Bentley Academic Institute, USA and the Bentley Academic Hub is installed in the Civil Engineering Department. Similarly, Plumbing Lab is also established in the department in association with Ashirvad Pipes, Bangalore where the students can learn about the latest plumbing systems.  The students are consistently achieving Anna university ranks every academic year and receiving accolades in National and International level competitions. The department envisages various student chapters including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), ISTE, IE, and ACCE (I) for the benefit of the professional career of students.
