IE (Institute of Engineers, India) iTech Students Chapter
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology,
established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the l
argest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines with a
membership of more than 820 thousand, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades. The IEI has its
headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than hundred Centres and several
Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.
Guest Lecture on "Physical Layer Aspects of Wireless Communication" on 30th August. 2017
The Institution of Engineers (IE) India Students Chapter and Electronics and Communication Engineering Association (ECEA)
organized a guest lecture on 30th of August on the topic "Physical Layer Aspects of Wireless Communication".
The Chief Guest was Dr.S.J.Thiruvengadam, Professor, Thiagarajar College of Engineering. The Lecture began with the introduction on
challenges in wireless communication system design, like limited availability of RF spectrum, requirement of higher data rates,
energy efficiency, multipath fading and the various methods to overcome these challenges were discussed.
Technical Quiz evetn "RAVE QUIZ" on 5th April 2017
A technical quiz event named "RAVE QUIZ" was conducted on 05-04-2017 by Institute of Engineers (IE) PSGI chapter
for II and III year students at E3-407 (EEE seminar hall). The participants were asked to register online portal.
The quiz was designed with two rounds to test the technical skills of the students based on their knowledge acquired.
There were totally 44 teams that participated in the event.
The Institution of Engineers? (IE) PSGI Students? Chapter organized an event on 08th of February on the topic
"How Stuff works" for the IE members of mechanical engineering department.
The event consisted of three phases. The first phase is about identifying a mechanical component using the given twisted clues.
The first phase sparked the minds of the students and they eagerly tried to identify the component.
