The three-day training and certification program on Pneumatics Module I, an initiative by the Fluid Power Society of India, was hosted by PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research from June 5th to June 7th, 2023. The event commenced with an inauguration function on June 5th, with Dr. S. Chandrasear, Corporate Director of Roots Groups of Companies, as the Guest of Honor from the industry, and Dr. N. Saravanakumar as the Guest of Honor from academia. The event witnessed the participation of 24 industry professionals and 4 academia representatives, marking its grand success.

Dr. R. Ramesh, Head of the Department , Mechanical welcomed the gathering, while Mr. S. Hemanth, President of FPSI, was available online to explain the activities of the Fluid Power Society of India. Mr. Shrikant Baikragi, Managing Director of Argo Hytos and Chairman of Training and Certification, provided a detailed explanation of the training and certification program. The Guest of Honor addresses were delivered by Dr. N. Saravanakumar, Principal of PSGiTech, and Dr. S. Chandrasekar, Corporate Director of Roots of Companies. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Kaustubha Parki, Director of Fluidics Pvt Ltd. The entire session was moderated by Mr. M. Senthilvel, the course coordinator.

After the inaugural function, Mr. M. Senthilvel conducted several sessions on the Pneumatic Control Chain, followed by Mr. J. Nagarjun, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at PSGiTech, who provided participants with knowledge about sensors and touched upon Industry 4.0. The second day was handled by Mr. S. Ravikrishan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at PSGiTech, who conducted sessions on electrical control systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The afternoon session was dedicated to hands-on training in the Industrial Automation Center, facilitated by Mr. M. Senthilvel.

On the final day, two pneumatic experts from Janatics India Pvt Ltd shared their expertise, combining inputs from both industry and academia for this three-day training. A theoretical and practical exam was conducted for the participants, and those who met the requirements were certified during the valedictory function on June 7th, 2023, with Mr. J. Ganesh Kumar, Managing Director of Indoshell Private Ltd, as the Guest of Honor. Certificates were distributed during the function, and feedback from the participants was received. The overwhelming positive feedback from the attendees highlighted their appreciation for the three- day event, with many expressing interest in a Pneumatics Module II. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. U. L. Jayaprakash, Deputy Director of Argo Hytos Private Limited marking the end of the three day event.
