The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Chapter Inaugural Ceremony was held on 4th January 2016 at 10:00 am in the newly constructed Seminar hall of CSE Block, PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research. Indeed it was a conglomeration of many eminent personalities including our Founder Trustee, Shri.G.R.Karthikeyan, Managing Trustee, Shri.L.Gopalakrishnan, Dr.R.Subbayyan, Former Vice-chancellor of Bharathiar University, Dr.K.Ganesan, Secretary, ISTE Tamilnadu and Pondicherry section. At the outset, Dr.P.V.Mohanram, Principal, PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research welcomed the gathering and highlighted on the need for an elite forum like ISTE in an engineering campus. Later Honorable Founder Trustee, Shri.G.R.Karthikeyan addressed the audience, traced the history of PSG Institutions and articulated the brand value of the three- lettered acronym.
Dr.R.Subbayyan, also the Former Principal of PSG College of Technology emphasized on the importance of professionalism in engineering education. Further, he also stressed on the various avenues for engineering students in the society. Dr.P.Radhakrishnan Nair, Director of PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, spoke on internship opportunities in foreign universities for both faculty as well as students. Dr.R.Rudramoorthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology, shared his valuable thoughts on some salient features by which an institution can provide top-notch education on par with universities worldwide.
The inauguration ceremony of ISTE was felicitated by Dr.K.Ganesan, Secretary of ISTE Tamilnadu and Pondicherry section, deliberated the needs of several achievements to be scored through ISTE. He also spoke on the benefits of conducting seminars, which will enhance the technological know-how of the entire Engineering education.
Finally the vote of thanks was rendered by Dr.G.Chandramohan, Vice-Principal of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research.
